This beach hut HAS to be mine ...!!!...I wish .... Russell Cotes Museum ...full of Victorian treasures.......... History bit ....The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum was founded by Sir Merton (1835-1921) and Lady (1835-1920) Russell-Cotes on Bournemouth’s East Cliff at the turn of the twentieth century. Apart from Sudley Art Gallery in Liverpool, the Russell-Cotes is a rare survivor as the residence of a Victorian private collector, which was purpose-designed and perpetuated as a permanent art museum. The Art Journal acknowledged that “Mr Russell-Cotes has devoted considerable time to the bringing together of probably the most notable collection of modern works of Art in the extreme south of England.” (1895, Art Journal, London: J.S Virtue & Co. Ltd., 83) These are a few of the sculptures on the railings outside the Art Gallery/Museum.... Went to Bornemouth today to the Folk Festival and had a walk along the beach and a quick scoot around Russell Cotes Art Gallery and Museum .......listened to Chris Wood at the Featival ...brilliant........x
Along the Prom...
Chris Wood ..( not taken this aft but he did sing this ).....
I love them beach huts Lorna and you sure look good next to that one just your colour....also like the fossil on the railing...think fossils will be in my next college project x
Those cottages are spectacular, just the way we like them, full of color. You take the one that matches your hair and I will take the turquoise one on the far left end. Great fence sculpture, so cool. Glad you enjoyed the folk and your outing to the beach. xox Corrine
The beach huts were great they looked like sample colour swatches of paint ....they were new so looked especially good ...although I do like beach huts with peeling paint too ...thanks for lovely comments...x
