Honest opinions please ......
I have been trying out some new work for my exhibition ....YIKES only 14 more days before it's hung.........Be positive it'll be alright on the night !!!!.........but I would appreciate some comments on them as they are such a different style from my tried and tested work .....I have enjoyed making them though... .the main images are from some knitting patterns that I transferred to fabric then I added braids and lace and bits and bobs I had hanging around on my worktable The first one has a lino cut flower printed on it too......What d'ya think ????......x

Hi lorna, your collages are fantastic, great colour choice too for this time of year loving them both and the old doll patterns bring back memories great work ju x
ReplyDeleteI really like these pieces. So many things to look at in each piece and many triggering memories.
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm a big fan of the vintage images and your work and it's all very YOU even though it's new arrangements. Those old pattern images are darling and I think your pieces will be a hit. I especially like the buddha heart dude.
ReplyDeleteI think it might help to know the name of the pieces or the theme you were trying to achieve, something I have the most difficulty with with some of my assemblages.
I do love them!
xoxo Kim
The stamps are made of fun foam, if you go back a few posts I put some links in for how to make them.
ReplyDeleteThe pieces look full of detail and fascinating.
Wow, I love them, so much going on there...the lino cut flower is fab, would look great on so many things. Lots of depth and richness here.
ReplyDeleteWish I could see them in person.....xox Corrine
Thanks folks for feedback i enjoyed making them so i thought people might like to look at them ......Kim I didn't start with a theme I just found the images on knitting patterns the sindy and paul one reflected my youth and falling in love where i thought that boys were the biz hence the crown etc ...and what I saw was not their real identity hence the Buddha I then grouped images together like a story ..the other one was like an image of my first doll so it was just a bit of a nostalgic story with some important symbols for me within the piece....and also bits put together beacuse they fitted too ....x
ReplyDeleteI love these! Although they have a much different color scheme from most of the work I've seen from you...your style and the artymess essence is still there. they are very nice.
ReplyDeleteyou make me want to experiment with printing out stuff onto fabric!! It really adds so much depth.
I love the colors, the textures and the movement. :))
