New hair ......Old work .........
Had my hair cut today ....on a whim .....what d'ya think ??
Here is some work that hasn't seen the light of day for a while .....thought I'd share it as I am in a bit of hibernation mode as far as work is concerned at the mo .....
printed organza with machine stitching and beading ....
This was melted plastics layered and stitched .......
Melted plastics machine stitched ........
Hand made paper in spiral shape then machine stitched........
Hand made paper machine stitched.........
I transfer printed the fabric then machine stitched the pattern........
The next are a series of weaving using everything from yarn to wire to stalks to cup cake paper to straw etc ....then making the weaving 3D in some way and then adding embellishments ..they were fun to do .........the inspiration was Godrevy Beach nr St Ives........

Gorgeous haircut and beautiful work. Love all that texture.
ReplyDeleteune belle femme au début et un travail magnifique par la suite!
ReplyDeletelove the hair! you look like a movie star.
ReplyDeletethanks for the peek at your art work. very impressive pieces. Nov/Dec I didn't feel like making much art. As I blog hop, seeing other peoples work gets me excited. I'm very visual, so looking at art is like a drug. I drive my family crazy because I have to "look" at everything no matter where we are. Patterns on buildings, shadows, color combos in flower beds. I suck everything in through my eyes. If you are in a hurry..never take me on a walk or out and about.
have a good day.

The hair is fab, as is the work you've showcased. Having seen them I shall add sewing and weaving to the list of things I wish I could do!
ReplyDeleteGreat hairdo and I am liking the piece of work with the cupcake cases very much.........
ReplyDeletethank you all for lovely comments on my hair ..I feel like a million dollars now !!!......and for liking my work some of it I did about 4 years ago plus ...the natural weaving project was part of my degree course .....A departure for me as you know as i am a colourholic and I had to concentrate on the texture instead ...I do like these though ....x

ReplyDeleteLove the new do! Now you need a new avatar. Love all this work you are showing too. So many interesting pieces, lots of diversity here. I'm especially enjoying viewing the last neutral colored pieces. What will you do with that next? are these just doodles or do you have something specific in mind with this work? Hope you are enjoying it.

Lorna your hair looks soft and feminine. Very flattering the way it's textured around your face.
ReplyDeleteLove your weavings and experimenting. Especially intrigued by the spiral ones.
Love the new hair and the old work!
ReplyDeleteI visited your blog and guess...we have quite a lot in common...I really like this plastic/fiber pieces of work here. I like to mix anything with fabrics as far as you can paint and sew.
ReplyDeleteWe live by seaside at Cherbourg, Normandy and we love walking on the beach picking up very small stones to turn them into pieces of home made jewelry.
I really would like to see the achievement of some pieces you show us here. I love them already as they are!
Nice to visit! You do so many artistic things! Love them.
