a variety of photos from an old album from my Grandmother, unfortunately all the names are long forgotten ...I do know some of them but their connection to my family is a mystery .....

Absolutely so. Remembering my great grandfather, Serjeant William Henry Bunyan who re-inlisted to go fight in the Great War, and died on the Somme on 9th August 1916 aged 42. Brave men all.

ReplyDeleteA day to remember indeed. During WWII my Dad was in Norfolk flying missions - he was young and was lucky to come back at all. A day to remember their sacrifice for us all. xox Corrine

ReplyDeleteGreat photos Lorna.....i have stories to remember from my Nan and Dad....i also wore a purple poppy for all the horses that where lost too...money went to animal aid ;(

ReplyDeleteMy grandfather was Welsh and drove the horses that pulled the cannons. He survived the first world war but was horribly injuried and was never really right again.
