A Pic from our bed ......slipped disc .....old age doesn't come alone

this will be my view for the next couple of weeks ....the circus tent hanging above our bed .....
After being in agony with sciatica for 2 weeks a visit to the osteopath confirmed a sacral lumbar disc bulge which I understand to be a slipped disc ( in old money) so I am confined to bed rest lying down only no sitting up and some gentle walking ....no painkillers so I can listen to my body screaming out in pain ......Yikes......I have been dosing myself up to the eyeballs last two weeks to enable me to continue going to school etc ....but it's caught up with me ..so no sewing .....i guess i can do some hand stitching lying down ...otherwise i will go slowly I N S A N E........
still there is a silver lining ...isn't there always ....I can catch up on all the blog reading that i have missed out on over the last few weeks when i have been so busy .........xx

  1. Oh, but what a fabulous view! You poor sausage ;( I've had a bit of physio manipulation for sciatica but no bulges, luckily! To stop yourself going really insane have a notebook to hand to write down the thousand ideas you'll have (when you're not wincing)& try to enjoy the thinking time x

    Love your summer pallet!

  12. I had sciatica a couple of years back and it's no joke. Rest up, take it easy and continue looking on the bright side, it's frustrating but it will pass lass, love Sharon x

  13. Oh, Lorna ~ sciatica is the worst. I've not had it for more than 10 years, but I have't forgotten the agony. And I didn't even have the disc complication. My doctors shoveled pain killers and muscle relaxers at me until I once spent 9 weeks in bed. If I hadn't just toughed it up out of bed, finally, I'm sure I could still be reporting in for more wheelbarrows full of medication. I wish you well.

    Ha! WV=blogreq. That's me!
