These are some postcards that have already gone on their adventures.........and 1 ATC

Work in progress

This project I started a while ago but came to a stop for whatever reason ....I have to make the last quarter of the flower then I am either going to mount it as a wall hanging or put each one in a separate frame .....any thoughts??? the flower sections are done in layers
1st layer dye on cotton
2nd pieces of fabric stuck on with pritt stick
3rd cut up pieces of fabric gold and sparkly sprinkled in places
4th organza layered over the top
5th machine stitched to show shape of petals
6th hand stitching mainly French knots which is one of my favourite stitches (along with lazy daisy)
I made the first one as an example for my pupils to try experimenting then got carried away .........as you do !!! x

Here are the next three ATC cards these haven't got a new owner yet so will post them on Flickr later to see if I can get them a home .......Happy Sunday ...less than one day to go now ....probably need to go back to school to give my sewing hand a rest !!! ....x

Workroom

This is the last bit of 'space' I have left in my workroom at the moment. He He .....I think I need a sort out ........Does anyone know how I can take myself off my followers list I added myself by mistake........Oops

New ATC cards

Some new ATC cards most made this week ..I have been stitching like crazy making the most of this week's holiday before I'm back at school on Monday. The Angels are for a Yahoo Trading cards swap the others are just one to one swaps.

Spring walk and Pooh sticks

Had a lovely spring walk today to the river with jim and Ruby and the dogs.The sun was warm and the sky blue it was perfect. We walked through the woods and down to the river. Gracie normally loves the water but she was reluctant to go in today I guess it was too cold. Jim and Roo played Pooh sticks and enjoyed the spring sunshine. We later went down to Solent water to Royal Victoria Country park with Joss..........did some beach combing, collected lovely smooth bits of glass ...maybe for my next project.

New ATC

The 5th and 6th ATC cards ready to send to the Yahoo swap theme recycling. I had in mind I wanted a bottle top on these so had to troll down to the local supermarket bottle recycling bin ..found some great beer tops ...decided to use the 'bud'ones as the colour was the best with the cards.

Yahoo group ATC Swap

I have joined Yahoo ATC swap group and my first swap is a recycle theme. I sandwiched threads between pieces of a plastic bag and ironed them (using baking parchment)then stitched on top. The little squares are bits of Xmas wrap that I couldn't bear to throw away..........like everything else that i won't throw away !!!
the pinky squarea are threads trapped in dissolvable solufleece. Most of the threads are recycled either bought in charity shops or off ebay.

Valentine swaps

Here are two lovely valentine postcard swaps that I received yesterday. this was a Stitchin Fingers swap the little bird with the hearts was from Ann AKA Trillion and the other was a secret swap.

Brilliant Day

My daughter Sophie comes home today from India....Wales are playing Scotland and Southampton are playing portsmouth their arch rivals and me and Jim are going ......yikes !!!! Come on Sophie ...Come on wales....Come on you Reds..........and tomorrow is me and jim's sixth anniversiary ....YAY....

Back to winter

Back to lighting the fire ....my dogs are happy....can never get a look in with those two rascals. Two more get ups until we break up for half term....One whole week off.....bliss...no getting up in the dark to walk the mutts before school for 7 days...I have just joined a Yahoo group for trading ATC's so I'll be busy stitchin'......Perfect !!
