Work in progress.........
Managed to get away for a few days just to the Isle of Wight ..it's great to have a change of scene ......'A change is as good as a rest they say' and I have been quite depressed about the slow progress of my back but I was able to drive the 15 mins to the ferry .....i lay down over the crossing and the cottage was only a short drive from the ferry .......it's an idyllic cottage on a farm it's 16th Century and the garden is really old fashioned with lots of cottage garden flowers and quite higgledy piggledy .....we love it ....its so peaceful and beautiful .....i have taken my sewing machine and sewing stuff of course (the first thing to be packed in fact I've realised i haven't brought enough clothes ...ah well maybe I'll have to make myself some !!).....I've even done a water colour and pencil drawing .........xx

Oh my............ such delicious photos. The piece of textile work is just gorgeous. Love everything about it and of course, that little bit of black and white chequer just makes it "you" ..... Have the most wonderful time. I am way behind with my "thank you's" so am taking this opportunity to say thanks for your comment re my teacup post. It was such a fun project to have taken part in.
ReplyDeleteHope that back eases off for you so that you can get back to normal soon.
Good for you. I hope you are on serious mend once and for all. Some lovely work my friend. xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteWell, Mrs.! The Isle of Wight and beautiful works flowing. I'm sorry your back has been such a trial and hope you are soon at peace.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could find the email. I recently landed you a new follower, a friend of mine, when I sent her to look at one of your posts. She is not vaguely interested in textiles that I'm aware of, but she is into beauty and creativity. I said something like "I know it's not your first love (textiles), but go look at all the art flowing in the breezes over there." She did, she was hooked and made some golden, but now lost, statement along the lines of how clear it was that you gave yourself and your life to an expression of all your senses, bravely and generously, and aren't WE all lucky to have you. I completely concur with her assessment!
All this was a feast for the eyes. I almost feel like I got away too.
