Happy New Year..........What's happened in your first week of the year ??.....I lost my job !!....but staying positive now I can become a REAL textile artist .....xx
Oh that sucks, but as you so rightly suggest, it'll give you more time to spread your wings and develop your own talents without the need for compromise. You go girl!
OMG, the dragonfly is sending her message loud and clear. YOU ARE a textile artist my friend, I am sending white light wishes for your continued success in your artistic endeavors. xox Corrine
Ah, you're finally "redundant." I love that word -- it's so much better than what we use...fired, axed, canned, or sacked. Well, here's to happy creating, and may it all work out as well or better than you hope. I love your new blog background! xox
gosh...what a horrible thing to happen at any time but especially at the start of a new year. It sounds like you are being positive about it though and good luck to you. You are the winner of my giveaway diary by the way so if you can contact me with your address I will post it to you and you can chart your steps to success in its pages!!
It's never pleasant to lose a job, but you've certainly got the talent & energy to make the most of your newly expanded creating hours! All best wishes for all of your "re's" in the new year!!
Oh Lorna, I am SO SORRY to hear this..I'm going to use some colourful language to describe your employers(*%###!!!!). It sounds like a case of "Unfair Dismissal". That's something we have in SA. and it's against the law to sack someone after they have been ill. You must have been devastated Lorna!! You will find something else...you are a TROOPER!!My heart goes out to you Lorna. Judy xxx

I am a qualified Textile Teacher but now I am lucky enough to follow my dream being a full time Textile Artist and I love every minute I spend creating in my studio at The West Wing. I am passionate about textiles and am privileged to share my skills with others.
I run workshops for schools, colleges and groups.
I work 1 to 1 with individuals who might want help with basic sewing or more advanced techniques.
Commissions are always welcome please get in touch with me to discuss your requirements. No textile job is too small .....:)
I sell my work through Etsy and you can find me on Facebook at Artymess Textile Art ...come and say hello.
Thanks for taking the time to have a glimpse at my world.
Thanks for stopping by to say Hello. Here I post snippets and snapshots of my life. Feel free to leave a comment or E mail me about anything you like. I am happy to hear from you.........Lorna xx

Come and visit my other blog ArtyMaker..I have been lucky enough, along with 8 other Textile artists to take part in The Enliven Project....a project organised by Eastleigh Borough Council....which means that we are working as artists in residence in local Charity shops ...we will create an outfit out of goodies we find in our allocated shop which will be put on display for a month. The outfit will then be featured in the Eastleigh music Festival weekend in July
